The bolt spring at position 13 is part of the mounting assembly of the titanium or stainless steel Elecro heat exchanger and ensures constant preload of the connecting bolts of the exchanger flanges.
A correctly functioning spring compensates for the thermal expansion of the exchanger materials when operating temperatures alternate and prevents the bolts from loosening and the subsequent leakage of water from the joints.
Wear or breakage of the spring is most often caused by corrosion or overloading during installation – replacing this inexpensive part prevents more serious leakage on the exchanger.
The component is compatible with Elecro heat exchangers for both pools and hot tubs and is installed according to the exchanger’s service drawing.
