The lid seal of the Granada filter housing is a rubber O-seal placed in the groove of the lid, which, when the nut is tightened, creates a watertight joint between the lid and the body of the housing. A cracked or hardened seal is the most common cause of water leaks from the filter housing.
The seal material is resistant to pool water chemicals and temperature fluctuations. A properly functioning seal can withstand the operating pressure of the filtration without deformation or extrusion from the groove.
Replacing the seal is simple – just remove the lid, take out the old seal from the groove and insert a new one, possibly lightly lubricated with silicone grease for better sealing. We recommend preventive replacement every 3–4 seasons.
