The ceramic mechanical seal for the Maxi Delfino pool pump is a precise sealing part consisting of a rotating graphite ring and a stationary ceramic ring with polished mating surfaces. A thin layer of water forms between these surfaces, which seals the passage of the shaft and at the same time serves as a lubricant to minimise wear.
The ceramic material of the stationary ring excels in high resistance to abrasion and to the chemical effects of pool water with chlorine or salt, thereby ensuring a long service life of the seal even in continuous operation. The precise dimensions of the seal are calibrated to the shaft of the Maxi Delfino pump.
Replacement of the seal is recommended when water drips from the pump body or when moisture is detected in the area of the electric motor. Timely replacement of this inexpensive spare part can prevent costly damage to the motor winding and the entire pumping unit.
