The body seal is a flat or profiled rubber gasket located on the parting plane between the hydraulic housing and the motor block of the Mr.Pump ECO pump. It ensures a watertight separation of the wet and dry parts of the pump, thereby protecting the electric motor from water ingress.
The seal is made of EPDM rubber resistant to chlorinated water, chemicals and the temperatures of pool operation. It gradually ages and loses elasticity, so replacing the body seal is a standard procedure during a pump overhaul.
When disassembling the pump to replace the mechanical seal or impeller, it is recommended to replace the body seal at the same time, as the work is identical and the part itself is inexpensive. The original part guarantees the correct dimensions and material properties for permanent sealing.
