The bottom drain seal is placed between the body of the drain and the pool wall and, after the flange is tightened, forms a watertight joint resistant to the permanent pressure of the water column.
The EPDM or NBR material resists chlorinated water, temperature fluctuations and the mechanical stress during installation, so the seal retains its elasticity throughout the service life of the pool.
With every disassembly of the drain (repair, liner replacement), replacing the seal is a standard preventive step that prevents subsequent dripping.
