The mechanical shaft seal is a key sealing element of every centrifugal pump – without it, water would penetrate along the shaft and out of the pump housing, leading to motor damage.
The seal is made of ceramic and durable rubber in combination with stainless-steel components that withstand the chemically demanding environment of pool water as well as the thermal load of operation.
A worn seal manifests itself as water dripping from the pump – timely replacement prevents more extensive motor damage and unnecessarily costly repairs.
The part is directly compatible with Qwertz-series counter-current pumps and its replacement requires no special equipment.
