The body seal of the New Contra pump seals the dividing plane between the front and rear parts of the hydraulic housing. A damaged or hardened seal causes water leakage and a drop in system pressure, which reduces the counter-current’s performance and can damage the surrounding electrical installation.
The original seal is made of an elastomer resistant to chlorinated water and pool chemicals, while retaining its elasticity even after long-term operation. Replacement is simple and requires only basic tools.
We recommend preventive replacement of the seal every time the hydraulic housing is opened or upon the appearance of a visible water leak around the pump’s dividing plane.
