The gasket under the lantern bracket is part of the assembly of NEWBCC pumps used in counter-current pool systems. Positioned between the hydraulic body and the motor part, it prevents water from leaking into the motor compartment.
A damaged or worn gasket manifests itself in water dripping at the pump body and can lead to damage of the electric motor. Timely replacement of this inexpensive part prevents costly repair or replacement of the entire pump.
The gasket is made from a material resistant to pool chemicals and to operating water temperatures. We recommend replacement each time the pump is disassembled or whenever a leak is detected.
