The seal for the Hayward 300 W light is a rubber part that ensures the watertightness of the joint between the front glass or cover of the light and its housing. A cracked or hardened seal causes water to leak into the light insert, which can lead to its destruction or a dangerous situation in the electrical installation.
The seal material is resistant to permanent submersion, UV radiation and pool chemicals. The original part guarantees the precise dimensions and the correct thickness needed to ensure the prescribed seal.
We recommend replacing the seal preventively each time the light insert is inspected, at the latest every 2–3 seasons. Replacement is simple and prevents much more costly repairs caused by leakage.
