The union nut is the fastening element of the union connection of the Elecro heat exchanger. When tightened, it presses the connection spigot against the body of the heat exchanger and compresses the sealing O-ring to achieve a watertight, airtight joint.
The robust plastic design withstands the thermal stress associated with heating pool water and the chemical environment of the pool pipework. The original dimensions guarantee a precise fit on the thread of the Elecro heat exchanger.
Replacement of the nut is necessary if the thread is damaged or the nut body cracks. When replacing, we recommend also checking the condition of the sealing O-ring to ensure a complete watertight joint.
