The central reinforcing band made of stainless steel (AISI) for the QS 500 series filter vessel embraces the spherical shell of the vessel in the equatorial part and increases its resistance to internal pressure during operation. The vessel functions as a sand filter with an operating pressure typically of 1.5–3 bar; without the reinforcing band, deformation or rupture could occur. The stainless steel resists moisture, the chlorine atmosphere, and mechanical impacts in the environment of the pool pump room. The original dimensions ensure a precise fit of the band on the vessel. Installation is carried out when replacing the filter vessel or during a major overhaul.
