The O-ring seal for the Astral series 00599 six-way valve is a rubber component sealing the valve’s rotary piston against the body. A worn or cracked seal causes cross-communication between the valve positions – water then drains to waste during filtration or another undesirable flow occurs.
The original part is made of a material resistant to pool chemicals, hot water and the mechanical stress of switching the valve position. The precise dimensions ensure correct seating and long-term tightness.
Replacing the seal is the most economically efficient way to repair a leaking valve and usually does not require replacing the entire body. It is recommended to replace the seal each time the valve is disassembled or when a water leak is detected.
