The pre-filter lid of the S-Swim pump is structurally different from the M-Swim model – it differs in thread diameter and shape, so they are not mutually interchangeable. The transparent material of the lid allows visual inspection of the basket’s condition without the need to open the chamber.
The body of the lid is made of durable transparent thermoplastic that can withstand long-term contact with chlorinated water and direct sunlight. The internal thread is precisely toleranced for easy fitting and secure sealing of the chamber.
A cracked or deformed lid causes air to be drawn into the hydraulics, which manifests itself as pump noise, a drop in flow rate and, in extreme cases, motor overheating. Replacing the lid is a low-cost preventive repair that protects the expensive pump motor.
