The pre-filter basket is a consumable part of the Badu Bettar (Badu TOP II) pump that captures leaves, hair, insects and other coarse debris before they enter the impeller. It thus protects the pump from clogging and damage.
The plastic mesh construction of the basket lets water pass with minimal resistance while reliably retaining coarse particles. Its precise dimensions ensure easy insertion and removal from the pre-filter housing.
The basket must be cleaned regularly (ideally every week) and replaced immediately if visibly damaged or deformed. A neglected or damaged basket can allow debris to pass through and cause mechanical damage to the pump.
