Replacement UV lamp for a UV steriliser with a power input of 75 W. A UV steriliser is a device with a special bulb that, when lit, intensively emits UV radiation; the lamp is hermetically sealed in a housing that does not transmit UV rays.
UV radiation is lethally dangerous to most organisms and is therefore used to destroy algae, parasites, fungi, viruses, yeasts and bacteria in water without chemicals. It is invisible electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength of 4–400 nm and a frequency of 10¹⁵–10¹⁷ Hz, which is part of the solar spectrum and consists of the components UVA, UVB and UVC.
