The Autochlor AC20SMC is a device for sanitising pool water by salt water electrolysis. Electrolysis releases free chlorine and the water is disinfected immediately. Water treated in this way does not smell of chemicals, because the system prevents the formation of chloramine. Suitable for pools up to 90 m³ (indoor) / 80 m³ (outdoor). A self-cleaning vessel is included.
Principle
The system splits salt molecules (NaCl) into sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl) using low voltage in insoluble titanium electrodes. The pool water should be slightly salty: 3-4 grams per litre.
Warning
No stainless steel parts may be present in the pool (titanium only), otherwise immediate corrosion could occur upon start-up.
