Shutoff Valves

Over 210 PVC-U shutoff and check valves for pool pipework – two-way and three-way ball valves, gate valves, wafer-type butterfly valves and spring-loaded check valves. In stock from Praher, Vágner Pool, Plimat, FIP and Astral in sizes from d16 to DN315, including seals, flanged collars and union nuts as separate spare parts. In-stock items ship within 48 hours, and we deliver across the EU. These are valves that shut off or divert the flow – you will find couplings, elbows and reducers in the parent category PVC-U Valves & Fittings, specifically in the Solvent Weld section. Types of shutoff valves Ball valves make up most of the category: two-way valves in sizes d16 to d110 (solvent weld, with 1/2" to 1 1/2" female thread, or as a PVC/PE transition) and three-way valves from 20 to 63 mm with an L- or T-port ball. PVC gate valves d32 to d110 are suited to places where there is no room for a ball valve handle. For large pipe sizes we offer wafer-type butterfly valves DN63 to DN250. Backflow is handled by cone check valves from 20 to 90 mm, also available with a strainer, and by spring-loaded check valves from 50 to 315 mm, with and without flanges. How to choose The decisive factors are pipe size and connection type – family pools mostly use d50 and d63 solvent weld, while larger and semi-public systems use d90 to d160. Check the pressure rating (PVC ball valves are usually PN16) and the seal material: EPDM is standard, PTFE seats withstand higher stress. If you plan automation, such as switching solar heating, counter-current or filter backwashing, choose the version with a 230 V electric actuator (Praher ER20, FIP) from the start, rather than a manual valve with an actuator bought later. What to watch out for With three-way valves, L- and T-port balls are not interchangeable: L switches between two branches, while T can also connect both branches. Check valves have a fixed flow direction marked by an arrow, and installing one the wrong way round stops circulation. Wafer butterfly valves connect via flanged collars and flanges of the same size, which are usually not included in the package – you will find them in the Flanged Connections section. For spare parts for six-way valves (seals, springs, handles, discs), always compare type and dimensions, because Praher, Astral and Emaux TOP have different spacings and are not mutually compatible. Who this category is for Pool builders and service technicians assembling a technical shaft, as well as pool owners replacing a leaking valve or check valve. Behind the shop is IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team – if you are unsure about the size or connection type, we will advise you from experience. For service companies and resellers we offer a wholesale programme with individual pricing.
