Reducers

Over 90 reducers made of rigid PVC-U for changing the dimension of pool pipework – short and long solvent-weld reducers and threaded insert reducers. The range runs from the smallest 20 × 16 mm up to 315 × 250 mm, so it covers both minor modifications at the plant and the backbone pipework of public pools. In-stock items ship within 48 hours, with shipping across the EU. Short or long A short reducer changes the diameter over the shortest possible length and is used where space is tight – typically in the technical shaft between valves. A long reducer has a smoother transition, so it offers less resistance to the flowing water and suits main pipework where pressure loss matters. The long version is designated in the range by two inlet diameters (for example 90-75 × 63 mm), because one part serves two dimensions depending on where you fit it. Threaded version Threaded insert reducers handle the transition from solvent-welded pipe to the threaded connection of a pump, filter or valve – for example 75 × 2 inch with an internal thread. Purely threaded reducers of the 1 1/2 inch external × 1 inch internal type are listed separately. With threads, always check whether you need the internal (int.) or external (ext.) version; it is the most common reason a part does not fit after delivery. What to watch out for PVC pipe diameters are given as the outer dimension, whereas inch threads are based on the inner bore – d50 therefore normally connects to 1 1/2 inch, not 2 inch. A solvent-welded joint is permanent, so assemble the setup dry first and only then glue; degrease the surfaces with a PVC-U cleaner and let the joint cure according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions before pressurising the circuit. You will find other fittings in the parent category PVC Fittings, and continuous solvent-welded pipework is covered by the Solvent Weld category. Who this category is for For pool builders and plumbers building or rebuilding the technical circuit, and for pool owners who need to buy one specific transition when repairing pipework. The e-shop is run by IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team – if you are unsure about your choice, we will advise from hands-on experience. We offer service companies and resellers a wholesale programme with individual pricing.
