Covers & Winterizing

Over 130 items for covering the water surface and preparing the pool for winter – GeoBubble solar covers, slatted covers with solar drive, winter covers, Vágner reel systems in the NOVA REEL, Jumbo and PLUS ranges, plus telescopic poles, stands and small spare parts. In-stock items ship within 48 hours, and we deliver across the EU. Solar covers A solar cover keeps heat in overnight and reduces evaporation, so the heating does not run in vain. We stock GeoBubble technology in thicknesses of 400 and 500 microns, in widths of 3.5, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 m, both by the metre and in 50 m rolls. The thicker 500 mic is more durable and lasts longer, while 400 mic is lighter to handle. The cover is cut to the shape of the water surface with a small overlap; bear in mind that it simply floats on the water and is not anchored. Slatted covers and winter covers Soléio and OPEN SOLAR ENERGY 2 slatted covers with solar drive are a sturdier solution than a cover sheet – the slats carry their own weight and cover the surface continuously. Winter covers are also available for equipment, for example for the RAPID Inverter heat pump, so the unit does not collect water and debris over the winter. Reel systems Without a reel, handling a solar cover is a job for two people. You will find the complete overview in the subcategory Reel Systems – it includes fixed, portable, mobile, longitudinally mobile and wall-mounted stands, versions with electric drive, and telescopic poles in ranges of 2.7–4.4 m, 3.7–5.4 m, 5.4–7.1 m and 6.4–8.6 m. We also stock cranks, wheels, stainless steel stands and sets of straps for attaching the cover to the pole separately. What to watch out for The pole must be longer than the pool width and rest on the stands – so measure across the outer edge, not the water surface. Never leave a solar cover on the water during shock chlorination, as chlorine at that concentration damages the material. Before winterizing, lower the water level below the jets and skimmer depending on the pool type and drain the equipment; you will find winterizing chemicals in the Pool Maintenance section, and the remaining accessories in the parent category Pool Equipment. Who this category is for Pool owners who want to cut heating costs and winterize the pool themselves, and service companies that install seasonal covers and close pools in autumn. Behind the shop is IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team – if you are unsure which to choose, we will advise you from experience. For service companies and resellers we offer a wholesale programme with individual pricing.
