The AOP Ozone & UV-C 75W compact unit is suitable for private pools. By combining ozone and a low-pressure UV-C lamp, it ensures hygienically clean pool water with minimal need for chlorine disinfection.

Operating principle

A special UV-C lamp generates radiation at wavelengths of both 254 nm and 185 nm. The 185 nm radiation converts available oxygen into ozone (max. 0.6 g/h), which is mixed with the water through a Venturi tube and ensures disinfection and oxidation. Inside the UV-C housing, all residual ozone is converted by 254 nm radiation into OH radicals (Advanced Oxidation Process) with an even stronger oxidizing capacity than ozone.

The Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) is among the best available water treatment technologies. OH radicals have a very short lifetime and the entire process takes place inside the reactor, so the treated water is free of OH radicals. AOP reduces organic pollution as well as the by-products of chlorine disinfection (THM, chloramines). The UV-C also destroys residual ozone in the water, so no separate de-ozonation device is needed.
