The BWT Aquatest water hardness tester is a practical tool for quick and accurate measurement of the hardness of pool or incoming tap water. Water hardness is an important parameter affecting the function of electrodes, the life of salt cells, the deposition of limescale on heating coils and the overall efficiency of water treatment.
Water that is too hard causes the deposition of calcium carbonates on pipes, heat exchangers and pool fittings, while water that is too soft can be aggressive towards the materials of the pool system. Regular testing and adjustment of water hardness extends the life of the entire technology.
