The BESGO automatic five-way valve for 63 mm pipe diameter in a 220 mm length is an electrohydraulic fitting for fully automatic backwashing of sand filters. The valve is equipped with a 3/2 solenoid valve 230 V controlled by a pool chemistry controller or timer. Upon a backwash signal, the valve switches the flow so that water passes through the filter in the reverse direction and flushes the dirt into the drain. A flow rate of 30 m³/h at a pressure loss of 0.3 bar corresponds to the performance category of medium filters with a 500–600 mm diameter. Installation into d63 pipework is done by gluing or threaded connection.
