The Blue Lagoon UV-C sterilizer and ionizer 40W combines disinfection by ultraviolet radiation with copper ionization and is designed for pools up to 35 m3.
Principle of UV disinfection
UV disinfection is an increasingly used technology for treating both drinking and pool water. It consists in the photochemical damage of RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes and other biologically significant macromolecules. Its effectiveness depends on the radiation dose, the type of lamp and its arrangement relative to the water flow. Low-pressure monochromatic UV lamps emit radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm with germicidal effects – destroying algae, parasites, mold, viruses, yeasts and bacteria.
Combining UV with other technologies leads to high water quality, lower operating costs and chemical savings. UV radiation alone does not ensure hygienic protection (risk of secondary contamination), which is why it is combined, for example, with chlorination.
Technical specifications
- Maximum flow rate: 23 m3/h
- Radiation intensity: 30 mJ/cm2
- Number and power of UV lamps: 1 x 40 W
- Connection DN: D63-50 mm
- Reactor length: 943 mm
- The lamp is hermetically sealed in a housing
The lamp and copper kit lasts two seasons when operating 12 hours a day for 6 months a year. The device automatically signals the need to replace this kit.
