The ORP 475 mV (redox potential) calibration solution is intended for the calibration of platinum or gold ORP electrodes used in automatic dosing stations and in portable measuring instruments. A correctly calibrated ORP electrode accurately indicates the disinfecting capacity of pool water and enables automatic dosing of chlorine or other disinfectants.
The certified value of 475 mV (±5 mV at 25 °C) is the standard reference point for pool ORP systems. The solution is prepared from analytically pure chemicals with a defined shelf life for reliable and repeatable results.
Regular calibration of the ORP electrode with this solution is a prerequisite for accurate monitoring of water quality and prevents both insufficient disinfection and overdosing of chemicals, which damages swimmers‘ skin as well as pool equipment.
