The ESPA Tifon pump body gasket seals the parting plane between the hydraulic body of the pump and the electric motor flange. This gasket prevents water leakage from the hydraulic part of the pump into the area of the bearings and motor winding, where it would cause rapid damage.
The original ESPA part is made of a material resistant to pool chemistry, temperature fluctuations and the mechanical compression during the tightening of the connecting screws. Whenever the pump is disassembled (servicing, replacement of the mechanical seal or impeller), it is recommended to replace this gasket as well. The precise dimensions guarantee tightness without the need for sealants or other means.
