The gasket under the 300W bulb is a replacement part designed exclusively for the Astral 7856 pool light. A properly seated gasket prevents water from penetrating the electrically live part of the light, protecting the bulb, contacts, and cable connection from short circuits and corrosion.
The gasket material is resistant to chlorinated pool water and to the temperature fluctuations caused by the alternating operation of the light and the cold water. Replacing the gasket each time the bulb is changed is a fundamental safety measure.
Installation is simple, but always carry it out with the light’s power supply switched off and disconnected. After fitting the new gasket, check that the light cover seats correctly before switching the lighting back on. Failure to follow this procedure may lead to an electrical accident and a safety hazard.
