The seal under the pre-filter lid is a key part for the correct functioning of Espa Tifon pumps. A worn or cracked seal causes air intake, a drop in flow rate and, in extreme cases, pump cavitation.
The original part is made of an elastomer resistant to pool chemicals and the temperatures reached during pump operation. It exactly follows the groove in the lid and, when tightened, creates a reliable seal without the need for PTFE tape or silicone.
Replacement is a matter of a few minutes: the lid is unscrewed, the old seal is removed and the new one is put in place – the pump is then fully functional again.
