The mechanical shaft seal is a sealing assembly installed at the point where the shaft passes from the hydraulic section of the pump into the motor section.
A properly functioning seal prevents water from leaking along the shaft into the bearing area and motor, where moisture would cause a short circuit or rapid bearing wear.
This part is intended for MCB and MCQ pumps, and its replacement is a standard service task once dripping from the pump shaft is detected.
Replacing the seal is an economically advantageous solution – it extends the pump’s service life at a fraction of the cost of a new unit and prevents secondary damage to the electric motor.
