The MP 240A TS medium-pressure UV sterilizer is used for the hygienic protection of both pool and drinking water by means of ultraviolet radiation. The principle is based on the photochemical damage of RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes and other biologically significant macromolecules, thereby achieving reliable disinfection without the need for conventional chemical dosing devices.
The polychromatic medium-pressure UV lamps emit radiation in the range of 185–400 nm, while the intensity of the emitted energy does not depend on temperature. Thanks to its high intensity, one lamp can replace up to 12 low-pressure monochromatic lamps, leading to smaller dimensions and compactness of the device. The UV technology can be combined with other water treatment methods, such as chlorination, thereby eliminating the risk of secondary contamination.
