The PIXIE ERP10 is a device for treating pool water using salt water electrolysis. Electrolysis releases free chlorine, which disinfects the water immediately. Water treated in this way does not smell of chemicals, because the system prevents the formation of chloramine, which is the cause of the unpleasant odour.
Principle
Electrolysis splits salt molecules (NaCl) into sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl). The reaction is achieved using low voltage in insoluble titanium electrodes.
Warning
When using a salt water treatment system, the presence of stainless steel parts is not suitable (titanium/ceramics/plastic only) – there is a risk of immediate corrosion and damage to the device.
