The pre-filter lid seal is a thin rubber ring (O-ring) located in the groove of the pre-filter lid of the Mr.Pump ECO pump. It ensures a watertight closure of the pre-filter chamber and prevents water from seeping along the thread or flange of the lid.
The seal is made of EPDM rubber, which is resistant to chlorinated pool water, UV radiation and the temperatures typical of pool operation. Over time, the seal may lose its elasticity or be mechanically damaged, causing water to leak.
Replacing the seal is a simple and inexpensive service task that can be performed even without professional help. Simply unscrew the lid, remove the old seal, clean the seating groove and insert the new seal. To ease assembly, the seal can be lightly lubricated with rubber-safe petroleum jelly.
