The replacement 16 W UV-C tube is a genuine lamp designed for the Filtreau Pool Basic 16 W sterilizer. UV-C lamps gradually lose radiation intensity over time, and therefore their regular replacement is key to maintaining effective disinfection of the pool water.
The lamp emits radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nm, which is optimal for destroying bacteria, viruses and algae without the use of chemicals. Replacement is simple – the old source is removed from the lamp sleeve and replaced with a new one; when handling it, the lamp must be protected from mechanical damage and from contamination of the surface by fingerprints. The recommended replacement frequency is approximately once a year under standard operation.
