The socket nipple L/male thread d50×1″ combines a glued socket for DN50 pipe with a 1″ BSP male thread. This transition is key wherever PVC pipework needs to be connected to a threaded port in a filter tank, pump or other fitting.
Manufacture from PVC-U guarantees resistance to chlorine and other pool chemicals. The precise thread dimensions allow reliable sealing with PTFE tape or thread sealant.
The nipple is most commonly used when connecting supply or return pipework to the filtration, where the pipe diameter (50 mm) and the thread at the device inlet (1″) differ.
