The spring of the Emaux TOP SS six-way valve is a functionally important element that, with constant pressure, presses the rotary plate against the sealing surfaces of the valve. Without sufficient spring pressure, the plate does not seat correctly and leaks arise between the filtration channels.
The original spring is dimensioned to exert exactly the required contact pressure without excessive resistance when turning the valve handle. A weakened or broken spring causes leaks that reduce filtration efficiency and can cause unfiltered water to flow back into the pool.
Replacing the spring is a quick and inexpensive way to restore the valve’s tightness. When replacing it, we also recommend checking the condition of the star seal and the valve plate.
