The star seal of the Emaux TOP SS six-way valve is a rubber sealing element located between the rotary plate and the valve seat. The star shape seals each of the valve’s six passages individually and prevents unwanted leaks when switching filtration modes.
The seal material is resistant to chlorinated water, pool chemicals and the repeated mechanical stress involved in turning the plate. A worn or deformed seal causes leaks, pressure loss and reduced filtration efficiency.
Replacing the seal is simple and restores the full tightness of the valve at a fraction of the cost of a new valve. We recommend carrying out the replacement regularly as part of the annual maintenance of the filtration system.
