UV-C Sterilizer DUPLEX 80W

The UV-C sterilizer DUPLEX 80W has a housing made of DUPLEX stainless steel, which means it can be used on pools with chlorine water treatment as well as on saltwater pools.

Principle of UV disinfection

UV disinfection is an increasingly used technology for treating both drinking and pool water. It consists in the photochemical damage of RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes and other biologically significant macromolecules. Its effectiveness depends on the radiation dose, the type of lamp and its arrangement relative to the water flow. Low-pressure monochromatic UV lamps emit radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm with germicidal effects.

Combining UV with other technologies leads to high water quality, lower operating costs and chemical savings. UV radiation alone does not ensure hygienic protection (risk of secondary contamination), which is why it is combined, for example, with chlorination.
