The UV-C ECO TECH sterilizer 40W has a housing made of AISI 304 stainless steel and is primarily intended for private pools where neither chlorine nor salt electrolysis is used for disinfection.
Principle of UV disinfection
Disinfection by UV radiation is among the increasingly popular technologies for treating drinking and pool water. It works on the principle of photochemical damage to RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes and other biologically significant macromolecules. Its effectiveness depends on the radiation dose, the type of lamp and its arrangement relative to the water flow. Low-pressure monochromatic UV lamps emit radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm with germicidal effects – destroying algae, parasites, mold, viruses, yeasts and bacteria.
Combining UV with other technologies leads to high water quality, reduced operating costs and chemical savings. UV radiation alone does not ensure hygienic protection (risk of secondary contamination), which is why it is combined, for example, with chlorination.
