Replacement 16 W UV lamp with a pink cap designed for UV sterilisers of the UV-C TECH series. A UV steriliser is a device with a special lamp that intensively emits ultraviolet radiation during operation. The lamp is hermetically sealed in a housing that does not transmit UV rays.
Principle and application
UV-C radiation is lethally dangerous to the vast majority of organisms and is therefore used to destroy algae, parasites, fungi, viruses, yeasts and bacteria in water without the need for chemicals. Ultraviolet radiation is invisible electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength of 4-400 nm and a frequency of 10^15-10^17 Hz and makes up less than 5 % of the solar spectrum (it lies between visible light and X-rays). It is divided into three components: UVA, UVB and UVC.
