The Zelia ZLT cell seal is a precisely dimensioned O-ring made of EPDM rubber with a diameter of 107.32 mm and a cross-section of 5.33 mm. The ring is placed at the parting plane of the cell and seals the hydraulic connection between the upper and lower body of the cell, thereby preventing the leakage of salt water into the surroundings of the salt electrolysis unit.
The EPDM material exhibits excellent resistance to salt and chlorinated water, UV radiation, ozonation and temperatures in the range of -40 to +130 °C, making it an ideal material for use in salt electrolysis cells. The standardised cross-section of the O-ring guarantees correct sealing when fitted into the relevant groove.
During service disassembly of the cell, preventive replacement of the seal is always recommended, as the rubber gradually loses its elasticity and ages. The original EPDM seal guarantees the correct dimensions and material properties for reliable sealing throughout the entire period of operation.
