At every replacement of the UV lamp or quartz tube, it is necessary to check and, if necessary, replace the O-rings ensuring watertightness. This small O-ring seals one of the critical joints of the sterilizer and its damage would lead to water penetrating into the electrical part of the device.
The ring is made of EPDM or silicone resistant to UV radiation, chlorinated water and the temperatures of the sterilizer’s operating range. The precise dimensions are designed for the relevant type of pool UV sterilizer.
We recommend replacing the O-rings whenever the lamp is replaced, even if they show no visible damage – an old ring may fail after reassembly. The investment in the ring is minimal, while damage to the device by water penetration is costly.
