The UV-C TECH sterilizer 75W provides disinfection of pool water by ultraviolet radiation.
Principle of UV disinfection
UV disinfection is an increasingly used technology for treating both drinking and pool water. It consists in the photochemical damage of RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes and other biologically significant macromolecules. Its effectiveness depends on the radiation dose, the type of lamp and its arrangement relative to the water flow. Low-pressure monochromatic UV lamps emit radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm with germicidal effects – destroying algae, parasites, mold, viruses, yeasts and bacteria.
Combining UV with other technologies brings high water quality, lower operating costs and chemical savings. UV radiation alone is not suitable for hygienic protection (risk of secondary contamination), which is why it is combined, for example, with chlorination.
