What a joint consists of A flanged joint has three parts: a stub flange solvent-welded to the pipe, a loose flange slipped over it, and a gasket between two stub flanges. You therefore need to order all three – a flange without a stub flange connects nothing. Flanges for built-in parts The second group is flanges that are not related to the pipework but to installation in the pool wall: flanges for skimmers (for example Kripsol 20 × 18 cm or stainless steel AISI 316 for models 11311 and 11313), the MTS SSL300 light flange, the PTK filter wall flange with gasket, and flanges for A-JET, V-JET and Oval counter-current units. These parts are tied to a specific model, not to a dimension – choose according to manufacturer and type of installation. What to watch out for With six-way valves, check the bolt-hole spacing, not just the nominal dimension; the flange for the Praher E valve has a spacing of 203 mm and will not bolt together with any other spacing. Do not overtighten bolts and nuts, and tighten in a cross pattern so the flange does not distort – PVC is rigid but brittle. In salt and saline-treated water, choose AISI 316 stainless steel for metal parts.
