Threaded

Threaded fittings bring together over 180 PVC-U fittings that connect solvent-weld pipework to the threaded ports of pumps, filters, valves and pool built-in parts. The range includes nipples (double, reducing, socket and transition), unions, 90° elbows, reducers, tees, couplings, plugs and hose tails, in solvent weld/thread and thread/thread versions, including the Ocean, CLV and PUK ranges. In-stock items ship within 48 hours, with shipping across the EU. Dimensions and threads Pipe dimensions cover d16 to d160, with the focus on pool plumbing at d50 and d63; d32, d40, d75, d90 and d110 are also well represented. Threads follow the BSP inch standard from 3/8″ through 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 2″ and 2 1/2″ up to 3″ and 4″. The pressure class is PN10 or PN16 – PN10 covers ordinary pool filtration, while PN16 is the choice where you expect higher pressure or greater stress on the joint. The solvent weld/thread combination is supplied with both male and female threads. Transition socket nipples solve two dimensions at once (for example d40/50 × 1 1/2″ or d90/110 × 2 1/2″), so no separate reducer is needed during installation. How to seal properly A threaded joint is sealed with PTFE tape or liquid thread sealant, not by overtightening. PVC-U is rigid but brittle, and excessive tightening torque will split the socket – typically when screwing a metal part into a plastic female thread. Part of the range, for example the transition socket nipples and the unions of the Ocean and CLV ranges, has an integrated O-ring seal; there the seal is made by seating and tape is not needed. Connect the solvent weld side of the fitting with standard PVC-U cement after degreasing and roughening the surface. A solvent weld and a thread in one piece lets you create a removable transition exactly where you need it – usually before the pump, the six-way valve or at the outlet of the filter tank. What to watch out for The most common ordering mistake is mixing up the metric pipe dimension and the inch thread. They are not the same number: d50 is usually paired with a 1 1/2″ thread and d63 with a 2″ thread, but the range also includes combinations outside this pairing, such as d50 × 2″ or d63 × 3/4″. Always check both – the pipe dimension and the thread size and type, that is, male or female. For purely solvent-welded joints use the category Solvent Weld, for valves and taps Shutoff Valves, for large-diameter joints Flanged Connections and for the pipes themselves PVC Pipe. Who this category is for Pool builders and plumbers use the category when building a plant room, service technicians when reconnecting pumps and filters, and DIYers repairing their own pipework. The shop is run by IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team – if you are unsure what to choose, we will advise from experience. We offer service companies and resellers a wholesale programme with individual pricing.
