The range consists mainly of PT and LIFO grates in modular widths of 195, 200, 245, 295, 335 and 355 mm and heights of 22, 24, 30 and 35 mm. Types of grates A flexible grate clips into a standard channel profile and follows curves and oval shapes without heating or shaping – suitable for pools with a rounded overflow edge. A straight, segmented grate is assembled modularly to any length and individual parts can be replaced without dismantling the whole run. The longitudinal slatted grate is the stiffest variant with a glue-free interlocking joint: in the 245 × 22 mm size five slats make a 0.975 m section, in the 295 × 24 mm width 1.024 m, and the material stays flexible enough to bend to a 5 m radius. The run must always be closed off – the category includes 45° and 90° corner plates and end-cap sets for longitudinal grates of 195, 245, 295 and 345 mm. Material and colours The plastic parts are made of injection-moulded polypropylene copolymer, which resists chlorine, salt water and UV radiation and does not yellow in the white versions. Aluminium grates with an anodised finish are intended for public facilities and need no surface maintenance. The colour range covers white, grey RAL 7011, beige RAL 1015, blue RAL 5003, light blue RAL 5024, black RAL 9011, anthracite and silver anodised. Some grates are certified to the EN 13451-1 standard, which covers the safety of pool equipment, including the slip resistance of the wet edge. What to watch out for Measure both the width and the height of the channel, not just the width. A 22 mm high grate will not replace a 35 mm one, and vice versa. Grates 35–37 mm high go with a 24 × 37 mm guide profile, 2 m long, which is anchored in the channel floor, holds the grate in place and still allows it to be lifted out for cleaning. Grates are ordered per running metre, so allow in advance for corners, end caps and any overlap. For a new build, add a 2 m concrete channel section or 120 × 25 × 25 cm polystyrene blocks with a thermal transmittance of U = 0.269 W/m²K.
