We also offer swim spa servicing – chemical and mechanical cleaning, impregnation of the cabinet and thermal cover, winterisation and an annual service inspection. How to choose a swim spa The deciding factors are the length of the swimming section and the strength of the current. At a length of around 4.5 to 5 m you can swim in place against the current; shorter models are better suited to exercise and relaxation. Bear in mind that a filled swim spa weighs more than ten tonnes – it needs a reinforced concrete base, access for a crane or handling machine during delivery and a strong electrical supply. Swim spa servicing A swim spa holds a large volume of water and powerful equipment, so regular care pays off. Winterisation protects the pipework and pumps from frost if you do not use the swim spa in winter. Chemical and mechanical cleaning removes deposits from the plumbing that ordinary filtration does not catch, and impregnation extends the life of the cabinet and thermal cover.
