Transformers & Wiring

Over 60 items for powering and installing pool lighting – 230/12 V transformers, cable junction boxes, stainless steel niches (installation housings) for the lights, face frames, renovation kits, connecting hoses and halogen bulbs. In stock are parts from the VA, Hugo Lahme and MTS systems and Adagio frames. In-stock items ship within 48 hours, and we deliver across the EU. Why a transformer Underwater lights are powered by safe low voltage, typically 12 V, because they are permanently submerged. A 230/12 V transformer is therefore a mandatory part of the installation, not an accessory – the range includes, for example, the PT 50 W version. The transformer's output must cover the sum of the power consumption of all lights on the circuit with a reserve; an undersized transformer overheats and shortens the life of the whole assembly. Niches, frames and renovation kits A niche is the housing set in concrete or fitted into the wall, into which the light is inserted – we carry stainless steel Hugo Lahme versions for liner and tiled pools, including a version with cable protection. If you are replacing an old 300 W halogen light with an LED, you do not have to break open the wall: CLICK-type renovation kits allow replacement within the existing niche and come with a white or light grey frame. Adagio frames with a diameter of 10 cm and 17/25 cm are also in stock separately. What to watch out for The cable junction box always belongs outside the pool and must match the protection rating of the environment – we carry VA and MTS versions, colour-matched to the built-in parts (for example RAL 7016). A cable from a light must never be extended under water or in a damp area. The entire installation is reserved electrical work: switch off the circuit breaker before any intervention and have the connection carried out by a qualified person; an inspection is part of commissioning. You will find the lights themselves and LED bulbs in the categories LED Lighting (white) and Lighting. Who the category is for For pool electricians and installation companies fitting lighting, and for owners upgrading original halogens to LED. The shop is run by IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team – if you are unsure what to choose, we will advise you from practical experience. We offer service companies and resellers our wholesale programme with individual prices.
