The d63 check valve made of PVC-U (Astral Pool) is a one-way flow fitting installed in pool pipework with a diameter of 63 mm. It prevents the backflow of water after the pump stops, thereby protecting the pump from a wet start, hydraulic shocks and contamination from the pool side into the filtration system.
The PVC-U valve body resists pool chemistry, chlorine, UV radiation and the operating pressures of common pool circulation systems. The valve flap is designed for minimal flow resistance in the open position and rapid closure when the flow drops or reverses direction.
The check valve is designed for solvent-welded or union (screwed) connection to d63 PVC pipework and integrates easily into the existing pipe system. Correct placement of the check valve (on the discharge side of the pump) is crucial for effective protection of the pumping system.
