The drain plug seal is a small rubber O-ring that fits into the groove of the drain plug on the pre-filter body of the Mr.Pump ECO pump. It ensures a watertight closure of the drain opening during pump operation.
The O-ring is made of EPDM rubber resistant to chlorinated pool water and temperature fluctuations. Over time, the rubber may lose its elasticity or deform under pressure, causing water to leak from the drain point.
Replacing the seal is a trivial service task – simply unscrew the plug, remove the old seal, fit the new one and retighten the plug. Thanks to the low cost of the part, it is advantageous to keep a stock of spare seals for immediate repair without waiting for delivery.
