The gasket under the LN nut is a thin but completely indispensable element in the NEWBCC pump assembly. Without it, the joint between the pump body and the piping would not be watertight even with an optimally tightened nut.
The gasket is made of rubber resistant to chlorinated water and the operating pressures typical of counter-current pumps. The dimensions are precisely sized for the LN nut of the NEWBCC series pumps.
We recommend replacing the gasket whenever the pump is dismantled, even if it shows no visible damage – after re-tightening the nut, the old gasket may crack or deform. A preventive replacement for a few dozen crowns prevents leakage and damage to the surrounding installation.
