Pre-Filter Lid Seal for Magnus Pump

The pre-filter lid seal for the Magnus pump is a precisely shaped elastomer ring (O-ring or profiled seal) that seals the joint between the lid and the pre-filter housing. A damaged seal, or one hardened by ageing, causes water leakage during pump operation and disrupts the pressure conditions in the filtration system.

The original dimensions of the seal correspond exactly to the groove in the Magnus lid body and guarantee correct compression for a perfect seal. The seal material is resistant to chlorinated water, ozone, pool chemistry and temperatures within the range typical of pool operation.

The seal should always be replaced at the start of the season or whenever the lid is removed – a worn seal does not retain its original elasticity and does not seat reliably. Replacement takes no more than a few minutes and requires no special tools.
